Member Spotlight — Justin Hoyle

Justin has been with CFJI since June 21st, 2017. He's even stayed with us despite a move across several bridges (Mt. P. ugh), which we are constantly reminded of.

Things have changed quite a bit for Justin since his start at CFJI. He participated in our 30 day nutrition challenge where he discovered that several of the loves of his life.... Sugar and beer were maybe holding him back a bit more than he anticipated. He's since made the switch to a clean diet and got rid of his dad bod. All of this happening right before actually became a DAD!

Justin and his wife Rebecca made it through the long adoption process and are now the proud parents of their baby boy "Jackson". Even with a fresh baby and only a few hours of sleep, Justin has committed himself. He's continued to trek the bridges and has become a staple at the Rowdy 5:30 a.m. class! Hell it's rowdy most of the time because of his presence. Justin is a committed athlete, dad, husband, lawyer, and does it all with a great sense of humor. It is for these reasons we have chosen Justin to be this month's member spotlight!

Freshly a new parent and still waking up and getting to the 530 am class all the way from Mt. P. What gets you up and to the gym every morning?

It is all about the people, we have a great crew of regulars at 0530. The fitness isn’t bad either, jk.

What made you want to step foot in the doors and try Crossfit?

My brother-in-law was a member at the time and he mentioned all the cool kids were doing it, so I joined and have been attending regularly ever since.

How has the adjustment with the new family member been on nutrition and energy?

It can be very challenging when you are learning how to be a Dad, not sleeping and craving snacks at all hours of the day, but my wife has been very supportive and has helped me figure out good clean eating options, even snacks at 0300!
