Member Spotlight — Allison Cordle

Since Allison and her husband Bo tried us out a few months ago, they've become staples in the 9 a.m. "ninjas" class. They even confessed that they purchased their house in Charleston based on its proximity to the gym...Nice! Allison can usually be spotted working out in a tennis skirt or something flowery and bright. She is typically followed by a sleepy Bo or their four-leeged Labradoodle named Cooper. She's always got a smile on her face, even when she's doing extra burpees after class or as she would call them her "cookie tax". Last month during our rowing challenge Allison single-handedly rowed over 55,000 meters! Allison's unbridled enthusiasm for life fit right in with the cheery disposition of the community and is one of the many reasons she earned this month's member spot light! Nice work Allison!

What got you in the doors at CFJI and what keeps you coming back? Our boat sailed into Charleston harbor from the caribbean on a Saturday morning. We showed up for the Monday noon class and never looked back. I have an addiction to endorphins and am a raging lunactic without a good workout, so I'll be back every day!

How has your outlook on nutrition and weight lifting changed since you started?

I have been crossfitting a lot of years prior to this, but I will say it is really cool to have a community so committed to healthiness - not just weight loss or strength, but genuine healthiness. What do you like most about CFJI? This is so cliche - but the people.

Favorite encouraging words you’ve heard at CFJI... "That sucked. See you tomorrow"

Favorite lift.

Deadlift

Least favorite lift. Snatch

Number one thing you want to accomplish in the gym this year...

65# Overhead squat. 3 strict pullups. Pushups with no admats. Deadlift 1.5x my bodyweight.

Is a hotdog a sandwich?

Gross. No. Biggest pet peeve.

Impatient drivers. Just chill out and we will all get there alive. Favorite message on one of the Conversation Hearts…

Be mine.

What is one thing that’s really popular now, but in five years people will look back and be embarrassed?

Joggers. Top thing on your bucket list…

I would love to go to Banff. What would you do with your 15 minutes of fame?

Raise a lot of money to give away. Most random thing in your car… A seatbelt for the dog. Someone is a helicopter parent and it is not me...

What is something everyone looks stupid doing?

Trying to put their suitcase in an overhead bin on an airplane. Bonus points if their shirt creeps up and belly peeks out.

One thing about me people would be surprised to know?

I've been to 38 countries and lived a lot of my 20's overseas. The world is such a wonderful thing to see and explore.
