Tell us a little about yourself and what got you on the path to CrossFit and Nutrition…

My name is Steve and I live on James Island with my wife, two kids (12 and 9 years old), a dog, two cats, and a bearded dragon. In real life, I work in ocean conservation but for an hour each day I get to sweat, complain, and dominate with you all at the gym.

This CrossFit journey has been life changing. I’ve always been super active, but I’ve never been form...

What are 1-2 of your goals for 2020?

Julie: Participate in the Dirty Doug workout this year so I will know I can try it before I turn 50, next year.

Josh: Handstand walk 25 feet unbroken.

If you had to do 100 reps of one movement (not running), what would it be?

Julie: Dumbbell Plank Row, I’ve only done it once in class so I’m not sure how 100 would feel...

Josh: Push Ups

What differences have you noticed since joining CFJI / tell us abou...

Tell us a little about yourself and what got you on the path to CrossFit.

I'm originally from Germany, My family moved over when BMW began building their plant up in Spartanburg.

I lived there up until I went to college at University of South Carolina in Columbia for Electrical Engineering. When I graduated I got a job down here in Charleston at an Automotive plant as a Validation Engineer.

My path to CrossFit actually started with a re-occurring...

Tell us a little about yourself and what got you on the path to CrossFit and Nutrition…

After eating and drinking my way through Australia for 9 months after undergrad, I came back to the states a tad heavier than I was when I left, so I needed something to whip me back into shape. A friend of mine was a CrossFit coach at the time, so I started doing private sessions with her, and finally she convinced me to start going to classes. I’ve bee...

What made you start in the first place?

I get nervous in groups, I’m not competitive, and I hate sweating.

Oh, and I hadn’t worked out in years. CrossFit sounded perfect for me!

Truthfully, I was in a really bad place in my life. I needed to make some drastic changes to be happy and that included taking better care of myself in lots of ways. And, I was skinny fat. When I tried CFJI, I was determined not to make excuses to never show up again. I we...

Tell us a little about yourself and what got you on the path to CrossFit and Nutrition…

I am from France. I moved to the U.S. 20 years ago to study. Life happened and I stayed. I have a friend who started Crossfit years ago and I would train with him from time to time when we were together. I always exercised and practiced different sports but I became interested in learning new skills through Crossfit.

What made you start in the first place?

In this week’s episode, we sit down with Kyle Frazier, owner of CrossFit James Island. Kyle tells us all about his early P90x days, his Christmas break fluff (thanks to white russians) and his career shift from a 9-5 desk job to gym owner. Kyle is passionate about helping people make huge lifestyle changes by taking the holistic approach, and his members have seen great success through his gym’s “life challenge.” We talk about sleep, stress, me...

Tell us a little about yourself and what got you on the path to Crossfit and Nutrition over the last few years?

I’ve always been active, playing softball and swimming as a child, running in my 20’s, tennis, hiking and step classes with 8 pound weights into my 50’s. Then my son said I should start using 15 pound weights and by the way he wanted to start a CrossFit box and what did I think? We looked for a place to rent and then luckily found a ma...

Aaron has been a staple at the 5:30 A.M. class since December 2017. He was
